NextHome Disaster Relief Foundation

The NextHome Disaster Relief Foundation is a California public benefit nonprofit organization created for our NextHome network. The Foundation aims to provide financial assistance to NextHomies who are victims of natural or man-made disasters.

NextHome members are affected by disasters yearly, from fires and hurricanes to earthquakes and tornadoes. To assist with recovery, Foundation grants help address their immediate financial needs. Our goal is to build a safety net for future disaster survivors.

The Foundation specifically provides grants to NextHome members and employees whose primary place of residency and offices (for franchise owners) are uninhabitable or damaged from disasters.

Financial Assistance

When disaster strikes, a team of NextHome volunteers will mobilize to identify who within the NextHome organization was affected and what immediate needs they might have. They will work with the affected members to fill out the grant application and the Foundation Board of Directors will review it for approval. We recognize time is of the essence and will work swiftly to provide assistance to our NextHomies!

The Foundation offers a one-time immediate grant for up to $1,500 and the approved grant does not need to be repaid. An additional $3,500 grant may be requested for outlaid expenses. The maximum amount available for each of these grants will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors (currently $5,000 within 12 months from the time an affected member first application).

The initial application for up to $1,500 must be submitted within 45 days of the disaster. It can be used to cover outlaid expenses when a personal, primary place of residence or office building is uninhabitable, or if they sustain any damage. You must submit photos with your initial application. The second application (to cover outlaid expenses up to an additional $3,500) must be submitted within one year of the disaster. Please include photos or videos of the damage sustained along with receipts. The Board of Directors reserves the right to request additional information.
